About ATSUSHI OGATA @atsushi_ogata_comedy

Born in Japan and raised partly in the U.S., Atsushi Ogata has worked in the U.S., Europe and Japan as a comedian, screenwriter, film director, artist and actor. Graduate of  MIT’s Center for Advanced Visual Studies and Harvard College, Atsushi’s art videos have screened world-wide. His screenplays received funding in Germany and the Netherlands, and he appeared weekly as a comedian on Dutch TV. His earlier film “Eternally Yours” was selected for the New Directors/New Films at the MoMA NY and Lincoln Center, and his theatrical feature “Cast Me If You Can” was screened on airlines, TV and streamed digitally on iTunes in North America. Atsushi expanded into web series with his one-man comedy video series “Yukata Cowboy” ® and its spin-offs, winning awards world-wide.

Atsushi got into live stand-up comedy after noticing people laughing at the Q&As for his film screenings. He has performed at the Broadway Comedy Club NY, Burbank Comedy Festival, Comedy Chateau “Best of Fest” LA, Tokyo Comedy Bar and other venues.

Atsushi’s comedy are semi-autobiographical stories and observations, inspired from his life as a perpetual “outsider.”
