Theater Information

Yukata Cowboy, the award-winning cross-cultural sketch comedy series by film director Atsushi Ogata, will have a theatrical release again at Tollywood, Tokyo's unique independent theater in the hip Shimokitazawa area, during the week for April 23rd. Atsushi will be at the cinema daily and available to speak also in English. Please join us! 

    

All screenings will be in English, daily from 4:30pm & 8pm, except on Tuesdays, when the theater is closed.

 

English-language talk and Q&A with director Atsushi Ogata will be held on Wednesday, April 27th, after the 8pm with Karen Severns (Film Programmer) as guest speaker. 

After the screenings on Monday, April 25 at 8pm, Thursday, April 28 at 8pm and Friday, April 29th at 4:30pm, Atsushi will also speak briefly, answer questions in English & Japanese and be available to speak with visitors individually and take photos.

 

Talks + Q&A with Japanese-speaking guests & Atsushi will be held after the screenings on Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 4:30pm

 

Coinciding with this release, is the publication of “The Unofficial Guide to Yukata Cowboy in English and Japanese”, a new bilingual book version of the Yukata Cowboy, with stills, full scripts and interviews by author/journalist Roland Kelts (“Japanamerica”) and others.This bilingual book and original T-shirts will be available for purchase at the cinema. 

 

Atsushi’s earlier films “Eternally Yours”, “Cast Me If You Can” and “Trick or Treat: I LOVE America!” (collaboration with popular Japanese YouTuber MEGWIN TV and actor Bob Werley) will also be screened in English or with English subtitles.

5 minutes by foot from Shimokitazawa Station south exit. Walk down the shopping street with MacDonalds to your left. At the end, where you see clothing store "Mocha" on left (and a Gyoza restaurant on the right with only Japanese signs), turn left into a side street.  You'll see the vintage clothing shop, CHICAGO. Go up the narrow stairways to its left and Tollywood is on your left after the British pub.
