What happens if you're born a "class clown" in Japan, grow up in the US and live around Europe as a filmmaker/actor/artist? Or born in Moldova and immigrated?
Imagine a childhood spent dreaming of the disciplined path of a Japanese Samurai and the rugged freedom of an American cowboy. That’s award-winning performer Atsushi Ogata, whose stand-up show spans national borders. He skillfully transforms cross-cultural observations, absurd misunderstandings and mishaps into laughs.
Valeria Vulpe is a comedian from Moldova, who performs internationally. Formerly a mathematician, she brings an analytical edge to her storytelling. Her comedy blends the absurdity of growing up in a country most people think is invented with the stark perspective of an immigrant. (Performing on August 2,4,6,9,10,16,17,19, 23 and 24.)

About ATSUSHI OGATA (@atsushi_ogata_comedy)
Born in Japan and raised partly in the U.S., Atsushi has worked in the U.S., Europe and Japan as a comedian, screenwriter, film director, artist and actor. Graduate of Harvard and MIT, Atsushi’s art videos have screened world-wide. In recent years, Atsushi has expanded into web series with his one-man comedy video series “Yukata Cowboy” ® and its spin-offs, winning awards world-wide. Atsushi got into live stand-up comedy after noticing people laughing at the Q&As for his film screenings. He performs at the Broadway Comedy Club in NY, Comedy Chateau LA (“Best of Fest”), Burbank Comedy Fest and Tokyo Comedy Bar and produces, hosts and performs in “World Comedy In NYC” shows at Broadway. Atsushi’s comedy tends to be semi-autobiographical stories and observations inspired from his life of living around the world as a perpetual “outsider.”
About VALERIA VULPE (@val.vulpe)
Valeria Vulpe is a stand-up comedian based in New York who performs in various countries, in English and Spanish. She is a regular at the comedy clubs Greenwich Village Comedy Club, Broadway Comedy Club, Bushwick Comedy Club in New York and Top Secret Comedy Club in London. Other recent appearances include the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Sketchfest in San Francisco, Altercation in Austin, comedy clubs in Istanbul, Manila, Paris and Mexico City.
Her comedy combines the absurdity of childhood in post-Soviet Moldova with the perspectives of an immigrant in the "West". Previously, she was part of the improvisational troupe Endgames Improv in San Francisco for 3 years.
Before comedy, she was a data scientist at Google for 8 years, until she realized that 8 years have passed. He also has a master's degree in applied mathematics from London, which remains to be applied.
